Serhat Mert specialises in contract law, commercial litigation and international (commercial and investment) arbitration. His practice mainly focuses on advising clients in construction & infrastructure, transportation, energy and commercial matters.

He has represented clients in complex and high-profile arbitrations under the rules of major arbitral institutions including ICC, LCIA and ICSID, governed by the laws of jurisdictions in Europe (English law, Swiss law) and the Middle East as well as investment treaties. He is representing clients before Turkish courts and arbitral tribunals.

Serhat Mert also specialises in non-contentious construction and energy work, including review and drafting of standard form (including FIDIC) and bespoke construction contracts, procurement, financing and claim & dispute management.

Serhat Mert is a dual qualified lawyer in Turkey and England & Wales, having professional working experience in Istanbul and London.

His previous experience also includes corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial contracts management.
